What does it mean if one of the chromosomes is 47XXX?

Patient's question:

Description of the problem: Because there was a child with developmental issues last year, this year I want to have a child but am afraid of something going wrong, so I had a chromosome test done. It was found that one chromosome is 47XXX. I don't know what this means. Please help me understand this from an expert!

Doctor's answer:

As an example of women, abnormalities in the number of sex chromosomes can manifest as having one less X chromosome or having multiple X chromosomes. In real life, the "Barbie doll" belongs to the latter category, which is known as "superfemale syndrome." To be precise, this condition is called "XXX syndrome," also known as "hyper-X syndrome." The normal karyotype of a female is (46,XX), while patients with "superfemale syndrome" primarily have three types of karyotypes: one extra X chromosome, i.e., (47,XXX), or two extra X chromosomes, i.e., (48,XXXX). In Guangdong, a female patient with as many as six X chromosomes has even been discovered, with a karyotype of (50,XXXXX), which is extremely rare. As a result, some jokingly refer to women with "superfemale syndrome" as "superwomen." According to surveys, the incidence of "superfemale syndrome" in women is as high as 0.8 per thousand, meaning that out of every 1,250 female infants born, one has multiple X chromosomes.
From an external appearance, after sexual maturity, the "Barbie doll" is taller than average women and has a slender, tall figure. In medical terms, this is described as an "imbalance between the torso and limbs," meaning that if the hands are extended horizontally on both sides of the body, the distance between the middle fingers exceeds the height, mirroring the slender, elongated body proportions of a "Barbie doll."
