Features: The classical Chinese poetry of China is as brilliant as stars and inexhaustible in beauty, always cherished by people. However, classical poetry is often concise in language yet rich in meaning, and heavily uses allusions, making it somewhat difficult for young readers to understand and sparking little interest in them. To help students truly comprehend classical poetry, appreciate it, and develop their appreciation skills, while also enabling them to apply it in writing, we have specially compiled the student edition of Three Hundred Poems of the Tang Dynasty. We have selected the most representative works of renowned poets from the Tang and Song dynasties, fully considering the learning needs of students. The book features enhanced annotations and comments on the poems, along with a more attractive and approachable design. Specifically, it has the following characteristics:
First, it is accompanied by dual-color illustrated illustrations, making the format more lively and innovative. Based on the artistic conception of each poem, we have included exquisite traditional Chinese paintings and used dual-color printing. The beauty of poetry and painting complement each other, helping readers immerse themselves in the poem's atmosphere and gain a deeper understanding of the work. This format also appears more approachable and is more easily accepted by young readers.
Second, it provides full annotations for the poems, significantly reducing reading barriers. Classical poetry uses words with extreme precision and is rich in allusions, requiring readers to have a broad knowledge of literature and history. We have annotated all difficult words and allusions, eliminating reading barriers. Additionally, we have provided comprehensive explanations for the poems. These explanations avoid literal translations and instead aim for smooth and elegant language while covering all key points of the original text. Reading the explanations can also be a delightful experience in itself.
Third, the comments are concise and help deepen understanding. For each poem, the focus of the comments varies: some highlight the author's exceptional writing skills, others help readers appreciate the poem's artistic conception, and others point out the background of the poem to help readers understand the author's emotions. The comments are brief and easy to understand, making them suitable for young readers.
Fourth, famous lines are highlighted for easy memorization. For widely quoted famous lines in the poems, we have marked them with prominent color strips for easy identification and memorization. If readers focus on mastering these lines, they can significantly enhance their literary style and improve their language and writing skills—truly achieving twice the result with half the effort.
This book is an ideal extracurricular reading material for primary, secondary, and university students, as well as a valuable resource for lovers of classical poetry. It helps them absorb rich knowledge, improve their appreciation of literature, and cultivate their character.
