Chapter 1 proposes that late Qing ci studies had three major developments, including the recognition, regulation, and practice of the ci form, which are the specific content and methods of the "veneration of the ci form" concept.
Chapter 2 explores the ideological content of late Qing ci studies, from the perspective of mutual permeation among Confucian studies, poetics, and aesthetics, pointing out how they used the viewpoints and methods derived from studying classics to address the creative significance and expressive approaches of ci.
Chapter 3 focuses on several relatively distinctive ci theorists and their core topics.
The conclusion briefly summarizes the critical methods used in late Qing ci studies.
