Features: Kaufman and other economists from the World Bank have recently conducted notable work by compiling data from nearly 100 countries to examine the strengths and weaknesses of government governance structures and compare the impact of government actions on national economic development. The World Bank China office once invited Kaufman to give speeches to Chinese administrative units, academia, and financial media, but it did not generate much response, far from the fervor that greeted the introduction of the "rent-seeking" theory back then. "Comparative" is willing to provide these two articles from two years ago to its readers again. Whether the "government capture" indicator data still needs further refinement, these indicators can still allow us to measure how well governments perform their roles. "Comparative" aims to provide an academic platform for comparative institutional analysis for its readers. Standing at the forefront of theory, "Comparative" selectively introduces the experiences and lessons of other countries, the theories and practices of transition economies, and the developments in comparative research fields. At the same time, it provides targeted introductions of theoretical and policy proposals, policy recommendations, and reviews from domestic and international academic circles on China's economic reforms.
