Wang Qiang holds a Bachelor's degree in Literature from the English Department of Peking University and a Master's degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York in the United States. He is the founder of the American English Thinking Oral Learning Method and a renowned English teaching expert. He has served as a lecturer in the English Department of Peking University, a software engineer at the U.S. Bell Communications Research Institute, the Executive Vice Principal of Beijing New Oriental School, and the CEO and Chairman of New Oriental Education Group. His major works include The Love of Books, Discovering the Charm of American English—Listening to Wang Qiang's Stories, English—On the Nose, and American English Fast Reading. He has hosted the Beijing Television Network program Study in the U.S.: From Word to the World.
In 1966, Mr. Wang Qiang returned from the United States and joined the founding team of New Oriental. He was among the first to dedicate himself to English education at New Oriental and comprehensively developed basic English training programs. He launched the first speaking training program in the history of New Oriental. Over the years, he successively founded the Practical English College, planned and launched the New Concept English training program, designed the English Skills Rapid Improvement Training, and led the development of the renowned Interpretation Training program. As the Executive Vice Principal in charge of teaching and training at New Oriental at the time, Mr. Wang Qiang made significant contributions to popularizing English education and establishing New Oriental's high-quality English skills training brand, playing a crucial role in the overall development of New Oriental.
