What could be the reason for a baby not having a bowel movement for three days?

Patient's question:

A 75-day-old baby hasn't had a bowel movement for three days, doesn't cry, and eats on schedule. Previous treatment and outcomes: None. What kind of help is desired: To know why.

Doctor's answer:

It should be fine. My baby's longest duration was 8 days. If breastfeeding, it's usually not a problem. If formula feeding, the stool can be dry. If introducing solid foods, the stool can also be dry. It's best to see a doctor if the baby hasn't had a bowel movement for 3 or 4 days. If the child is normal, eating well, napping normally, there's no need to worry. If it really can't be helped, use soap sticks and glycerin suppositories. It's a last resort, and I don't recommend using them. So when my baby was one month old, the longest time between bowel movements was eight days. I often massage their abdomen to help with digestion. If the stool is too dry or too loose.
