Features: Looking back over 2,000 years of the development of Chinese literature, it has been as splendid as a tapestry of flowers, with layers of vibrant colors. Tang poetry, Song lyrics, and Yuan qu have become the crowning achievements of Chinese classical literature with their profound historical significance and artistic charm, leaving later generations to admire their heights and sigh in regret. Their rich social meaning and aesthetic value have shaken generations of successors, enduring endlessly. They have deeply merged into the soil of traditional Chinese culture, nourishing our modern culture. They have fully integrated into the bloodstream of our national spirit, supporting the very essence of the Chinese nation. To inherit the traditional culture of the Chinese nation and promote the spirit of our culture, while also meeting the needs of literature enthusiasts and collectors at all levels, we have organized domestic experts in poetry, lyrics, and qu. After years of careful preparation and consultation with various parties, we have compiled this large-scale series, "Tang Poetry, Song Lyrics, and Yuan Qu," which stands as a trinity of these three forms. The series consists of twelve volumes, with seven volumes dedicated to Tang poetry, collecting 8,086 works by 79 influential poets of the Tang Dynasty. There are three volumes for Song lyrics, comprising 2,506 works by 52 renowned lyricists of the Song Dynasty. Two volumes are devoted to Yuan qu, featuring 28 works by 16 authors. In recent years, great achievements have been made in the study of classical Chinese poetry, lyrics, and qu in China. Numerous collections have been published, yet none fully meet the diverse needs of readers. In light of this, we have adopted the best of all approaches, referencing traditional literary history evaluations while also considering the latest research findings, and fully reflecting the personal style of the compilers. This series can be said to essentially include works from different periods, authors, styles, and genres during the Tang, Song, and Yuan dynasties. We have balanced generality with emphasis on key figures. For instance, almost all works by major figures such as Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi in Tang poetry, and Liu Yong, Su Shi, Xin Qiji, and Li Qingzhao in Song lyrics have been included. It can be considered a monumental work. During the compilation process, we received guidance and assistance from some renowned experts in classical Chinese literature in China and referred to the relevant works of domestic scholars. Due to space limitations, we cannot list them all here, but we extend our heartfelt gratitude to them!
