What should I do if the baby never likes to eat?

Patient's question:

The baby is almost 6 months old. After catching a cold a few days ago, it hasn't been eating well. Now it's still not fully recovered and occasionally coughs. Since getting sick, the baby cries when drinking milk and also cries when eating. The baby has noticeably lost weight these days. What can I do if the child doesn't like to eat?

Doctor's answer:

Frequent changes in dishes are not a suggestion for parents to cook different meals every day. At least, some thought should be put into arranging the rice and vegetables in the baby's plate. For example, if today's dish is scrambled eggs with tomatoes, you can make the eggs form a border and place the tomatoes in the middle of the rice, creating a flower-like design. You can pile corn into a moon shape, shape carrot puree into a sun shape, and often, babies are tempted to eat more when their eyes are pleased.
