Features: The main achievements of the research project "Environmental Protection Policy Research for the 21st Century" include: evaluating the implementation of the "Key Points of Environmental Protection Technology Policy" promulgated by China in 1986, proposing basic theories and methods for formulating environmental protection technology policies, and submitting the "Blue Book (Draft) of China's Environmental Protection Technology Policy for the 21st Century" and research reports to the Ministry of Science and Technology as important references for revising China's environmental protection technology policy; the "Outline of Techno-Economic Policy for the Environmental Protection Industry," "Techno-Economic Policy for Professional and Technical Development of the Environmental Protection Industry," and the "Development Plan for the Environmental Protection Industry in the 9th Five-Year Plan and 2010" have become important scientific bases for the State Environmental Protection Administration to manage the environmental protection industry; the research on foreign trade and environmental strategies proposed free trade suggestions for the environmental protection industry, which have been adopted by the State Environmental Protection Administration as the main basis for including the environmental protection industry in the list of "Early Realization of Trade Liberalization Projects" proposed by China in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
