The Classified Compilation of Laws, Regulations, and Interpretations of the People's Republic of China is one of the most comprehensive, scientific, authoritative, and practical reference books available in China. It compiles laws promulgated by the National People's Congress and its Standing Committee, administrative regulations and regulatory documents issued by the State Council, rules issued by the various ministries and commissions of the State Council, as well as judicial interpretations and text explanations issued by the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate from the founding of the People's Republic of China to 2000. The entire set contains nearly 5,000,000 words and is divided into seven major parts: Constitution and Constitutional-related Laws, Civil and Commercial Laws, Administrative Laws, Economic Laws, Social Laws, Criminal Laws, and Procedural Laws. It includes currently effective laws, decisions on legal issues, administrative regulations, regulatory documents, departmental rules, judicial interpretations, and text explanations.
To facilitate on legal issues for research institutions, scholars, and practitioners, selected documents from certain periods that are no longer in effect but still hold significant reference value have been included in relevant volumes, enhancing the practicality of the compilation.
