Features: Since the 1990s, the development of Chinese mitten crab aquaculture in China has been rapid. It has transitioned from the initial stages of open-field farming, natural release and culture, artificial propagation of crab seedlings, and artificial harvesting of natural crab seedlings for release, to semi-intensive and intensive culture, as well as early propagation of crab seedlings and culture in the same year. Aquaculture technology has become increasingly mature and diverse, with numerous high-yield and high-efficiency models emerging. However, due to the high technicality of mitten crab aquaculture and its susceptibility to market fluctuations, failures or low economic benefits in farming are not uncommon. To guide in producing mitten crabs effectively and achieving better economic returns, Lin Le Feng, an expert in mitten crab aquaculture from Nanjing Agricultural University, has written this comprehensive guide, 《》. The book covers the following topics: general overview of mitten crab production, the taxonomic status and biology of mitten crabs, artificial propagation of mitten crabs, the nutritional requirements and feed selection, cultivation, and preparation for different growth stages of mitten crabs, disease and pest control for mitten crabs, processing of mitten crabs, and mitten crab business. At the end of the book, there are detailed operation protocols for industrialized crab seedling breeding in natural seawater and artificial brackish water mitten crab industrialized seedling culture technology. The book also introduces numerous successful and unsuccessful case studies for reference.
