Features: This material consists of four parts: The first part selects discussions on filial piety from some contemporary ancient texts, the contemporary practice of the Classic of Filial Piety, and the prefaces to the Classic of Filial Piety, as well as some clan rules, family precepts, famous personal letters, and a small amount of inscriptions and archival documents. The second part selects some folk-oriented moral education books that have been widely circulated for many years. Generally, these moral education books include content promoting filial piety, and some even explicitly advocate for it. The third part mainly selects the actions and words of ancient people in honoring their parents. The selected figures are often cited for their exemplary behavior, but some content reflects the historical limitations, absurdity, or superstition of the time, and these are not separated. The fourth part selects some contemporary examples of respecting and honoring the elderly, including laws, regulations, and measures.
