Does the baby grow teeth if there are more of them?

Patient's question:

I've been feeding the baby formula milk. What could be the reason for early teething? Isn't it usually around six months when babies get their first teeth? At four months, what kind of assistance is needed: Is it abnormal for the baby to be teething so early?

Doctor's answer:

Nothing is abnormal! Around 6 months, it's roughly starting to sprout, referring to the majority. If you notice that other parts of the baby's body are fine, then there's no problem. In fact, the dental buds of milk teeth have already occurred again at the 2-month embryonic stage, and they begin to mineralize around 5-6 months. By the time the baby is born, there are already 20 milk tooth buds in the jawbone. It's not a problem if the eruption starts a bit earlier.
