Longan, native to China, is a renowned premium fruit in the south, not only rich in nutrition but also known for its benefits such as stimulating appetite, strengthening the spleen, nourishing the heart and blood, invigorating the body, enhancing intelligence, and prolonging life. Clinical studies in Japan have confirmed that longan has strong anti-cancer effects, making it highly favored by consumers both domestically and internationally. With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the demand for longan both domestically and internationally has been increasing. In recent years, there has been high enthusiasm for planting longan across various regions, with the planting area continuously expanding. Currently, only in Guangxi, there are over 200,000 hectares of longan plantations. However, due to the lack of effective promotion and popularization of advanced cultivation and management techniques, many longan plantations are poorly managed, resulting in mature longan trees flowering but failing to bear fruit, severe alternate bearing, and low-quality fruits. To meet the needs of longan production development, solve practical problems in longan production, and further improve the scientific level of longan production management, the authors have compiled this book "Longan Flower and Fruit Control Techniques" based on years of production experience and references. This book introduces techniques such as cultivating fruit-bearing branches of mature longan trees, promoting flowering, controlling winter shoots to promote flower bud differentiation, and flower and fruit preservation techniques, as well as major pest and disease control and high-grafting techniques, using colorful illustrations.
