Features: When people think of maritime disasters in the 19th century, the name "Titanic" comes to mind. In fact, there was another equally thrilling shipwreck story at the time, but unfortunately, this piece of history was buried for nearly a century and a half. It wasn't until recently that some of the ship's treasures were recovered from the water and will be auctioned in New York, causing this story to stir up a sensation once again. Finding the Golden Ship blends history, science, education, and adventure. As soon as you read the title, a series of words immediately come to mind—wealth, glory, romance, heroism, and eternity. In the prologue, the author begins by discussing the gold rush in California, USA. California was the first place in the U.S. to discover gold in 1848, and just one year later, in 1849, tens of thousands of fortune hunters from around the world, risking their lives, arrived, transforming the desolate and peaceful plains of California into a noisy, bustling town overnight. Among them were gold barons, explorers, merchants, missionaries, robbers, and thugs. In a newly born gold rush society, would laws and morals still exist? It's not hard to imagine.
