At the turn of the century, a continuous stream of middle-aged and young cadres stepped into leadership positions at all levels. With a fresh attitude and an energetic spirit, they actively engaged in various battlefields across the country, leading the masses, taming nature, and writing new chapters in history for the rejuvenation of China. They were full of passion and brimming with boundless energy. However, some colleagues expressed uncertainty about how to effectively perform their leadership duties and urgently hoped that the academic community would compile a textbook that combined theoretical systematicity with practical applicability, serving as a guide and reference for action. To respond to this call, the author has made some improvements in teaching in recent years, focusing on the micro-level of leadership activities. The behaviors and skills of leadership were summarized into six main aspects: using power, using people, using the mind, using information, using language, and using time. These were compiled into a textbook and used in teaching, receiving positive feedback from students.
