Adenoid hypertrophy always waking up with shortness of breath while sleeping, what to do?

Patient's question:

My child is four years old and has been diagnosed with adenoid hypertrophy, often waking up during sleep due to difficulty breathing. Could you please advise on what to do? Thank you.
Treatment history and effectiveness: None.
What kind of help is desired: To treat the condition effectively.

Doctor's answer:

Adenoid hypertrophy in children is often physiological. At birth, the nasopharynx of infants already has lymphoid tissue, which gradually fibroses with age. By the age of 6, it reaches its maximum extent and then gradually atrophies. It is only considered adenoid hypertrophy if it interferes with overall health or adjacent organs. Surgical removal of the adenoids can be performed concurrently with tonsillectomy or as a standalone procedure. For those who are not suitable for surgery, radiotherapy can be considered. Children over the age of 4 can undergo surgical excision.
