Features: The predecessor of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, was the Central Academy of Arts & Design. For many years, the faculty and students of the academy have focused on researching the development of modern Eastern and Western art while also digging into and preserving the essence of traditional Chinese art. They have continuously sought a path that combines tradition with modernity. In teaching, the academy not only emphasizes the transmission and mastery of formal techniques but also prioritizes the communication and embodiment of humanistic concepts. This ensures that students, whether during their time at school or in their future careers, gain a comprehensive understanding and recognition of the work they undertake. Many of the academy's graduates are active in the design industry in China, becoming pillars of the design field today. This collection gathers outstanding works from students in the basic pattern, graphic design, dyeing and textile design, and environmental art design programs of our academy. These works reflect, to some extent, the status and level of professional teaching in our academy in recent years, and we hope they will be helpful to those aspiring to study art and design.
