Can a child with mild pneumonia take Antiviral Oral Liquid?

Patient's question:

Doctor, a 5-year-old child with mild pneumonia, the doctor who came back from the hospital yesterday prescribed medicine, recovering at home, today the child has a fever of 37.5 degrees, is it necessary to take some Level 4 antiviral oral liquid?

Doctor's answer:

I'm glad to help you. It's recommended to have blood tests, Mycoplasma pneumoniae tests, and C-reactive protein tests done after your child gets pneumonia to determine the cause of the infection for targeted treatment. If it's really not convenient, you can start with some over-the-counter medication. If your child has a fever along with coughing up yellow phlegm, yellow tongue coating, and a red throat, it's suggested to take Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter Antiviral Syrup, along with appropriate antibiotics. If your child is not allergic to penicillin, you can give them penicillin. If they are allergic to penicillin, you can give them Azithromycin.
