Features:
1. The teacher's book lists the teaching objectives (Teaching Objectives) for each lesson, including specific requirements for listening and speaking, divided into three parts:
1. Part A: Listen, Write, and Speak is the central part of each lesson. It includes:
(1) Text of audio materials (Tapescript);
(2) Language and cultural background notes (Language and Culture Notes) for teacher reference, to clarify students' comprehension difficulties and broaden their knowledge;
(3) Exercises with Key, including listening, writing, and speaking tasks. The first two require students to complete them while listening, helping them understand the material as a whole and grasp key details. The third is a speaking exercise, where students answer questions based on the listening material, retell or discuss it, quote from the original text, or express their own opinions in their own words. Teachers can flexibly adjust based on students' proficiency, class size, and teaching time.
2. Part B: Listen and Relax consists of songs, poems, humor, riddles, tongue twisters, etc. It aims to cultivate students' language sense and improve their interest in learning in a relaxed three-to-five-minute environment. This part does not count for grades.
3. Part C: Further Listening is in the form of a short passage (Mini-talk) and five multiple-choice questions. Following the principle of rigorous training, the passage is slightly more difficult in language and speed than the syllabus requirements to develop students' listening comprehension skills.
2. The student's book, excluding the tapescript, language and cultural background notes, and exercise answers, has the same basic structure as the teacher's book. Each lesson lists the key learning skills (Learning Skills), including specific requirements for listening and speaking, divided into three parts:
1. Part A lists the key language points (Key Language) of the listening materials, including words, phrases, and sentence patterns, with Chinese translations and phonetic transcriptions for words. Students must preview this section. The first two exercises are completed in class, and students can calculate their scores based on the teacher's explanation and grading standards and record them for self-assessment. The third is a speaking exercise. Students can refer to the content of the listening material or express their own thoughts in their own words. This exercise does not count for grades.
2. Part B is the listening and relaxing material.
3. Part C is the further listening training. The specific requirements for the second and third parts are the same as those described in the teacher's book.
3. Audio cassettes: Include recordings of all texts, exercises, and exercise guides, with most of the main content being original materials. The order of exercises and intervals are arranged based on teaching requirements. Teachers can also flexibly adjust based on students' specific situations.
