Bashaba, a Miao village nestled deep in the towering mountains of Congjiang County, Guizhou, resembles a green leaf. Its unique customs attract visitors from all over: the ancient stilt houses lean against steep mountain cliffs, and the golden rice-drying racks stretch up to the sky. Men carry fire guns at all times, wearing the "hòugùn" (a symbol of the sacredness of the settlement). Women weave cotton fabric and wear their own hand-woven pleated skirts. Singers and Lusheng masters showcase their talents, with the melodious sounds of the "Four-Eyed Miao" (a type of Miao flute), Miao pipes, and ox-leg zithers filling the air. Men and women sing and dance joyfully, expressing their love for life with abandon.
