How to treat the closure of the baby's fontanelle

Patient's question:

Hello, my baby is 5 months old and the soft spot on his head is almost closing. What kind of interference will this cause? The baby weighed 8 pounds at birth, and now his head circumference is 42, which is within the normal range? I've checked the trace elements, and calcium is within the normal range, but zinc and iron are deficient. How should I take calcium supplements and cod liver oil appropriately? Thank you!
What kind of assistance is needed: Detailed clarification on good and bad aspects.

Doctor's answer:

At the top of an infant's head, there is a soft spot where you can sometimes see trembling, medically known as the fontanelle. At birth, there are mainly two fontanelles: one called the anterior fontanelle, located at the front of the head, formed by the convergence of the anterior superior angles of the parietal bones and the frontal bone, with a diagonal measurement of 2.5 cm at birth, generally closing between 1 to 1.5 years of age; the other is called the posterior fontanelle, formed by the combination of the parietal and occipital bones, located at the back of the head, which is usually very small or already closed at birth, and closes no later than 2 to 4 months of age.
