Can babies eat lamb?

Patient's question:

When the baby was 4 months old, complementary foods were already started to be provided. Now the baby is 7 months old, and meat products have never been provided during complementary feeding. I would like to ask you if it is possible to provide lamb now? The assistance I am looking for: obtaining opinions from various experts.

Doctor's answer:

At 3 months, complementary foods were already started, and now at 7 months, no meat products have been provided during the feeding. I was wondering if it would be possible to introduce lamb now?
Advice: Avoid lamb for now. In daily life, it's important to include easily digestible foods rich in iron to prevent iron deficiency anemia. Additionally, since the child's weight is increasing, more food should be provided. You can feed the baby soft rice porridge, soft noodles, egg yolk, or various vegetable purees and tofu.
Soft rice porridge and soft noodles should be given 2 times a day, with 1 tablespoon each time. Egg yolk can be given 1 per serving. Vegetable purees (such as spinach, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes) should be given 1–2 times a day, starting with 1 tablespoon each time, gradually increasing to 2 times a day with several tablespoons each time. Tofu can be given 1/4 block per day.
