Modern Mathematics Handbook - Classic Mathematics Volume

Author: Compiled by the Editorial Committee of the Handbook of Modern Mathematics
Publisher:
Publication Date: 2000-12-01
Features: As a mathematical reference work, what characteristics should such a massive handbook possess? During the compilation process, a consensus was reached between the publisher's leadership and us, that the handbook should be scientific, advanced, practical, standardized, and concise. Over 200 contributors and reviewers have put in tremendous effort to meet these requirements and characteristics. We would like to thank their concerted cooperation and efforts, which have made the handbook fundamentally reflect the aforementioned desired features. This series is a key publishing project under China's "Nineth Five-Year Plan." For the convenience of readers in purchasing and using the handbook, it has been published in 5 volumes, titled "Classical Mathematics Volume," "Modern Mathematics Volume," "Computer Mathematics Volume," "Stochastic Mathematics Volume," and "Economic Mathematics Volume." It should be noted that the categorization of each branch (item) is relative, considering the balance of volume sizes across the different volumes. For example, the "Monte Carlo Method" section could also be included in the "Computer Mathematics Volume."
