Features: Industrial design is an emerging and highly promising discipline. In China, the industrial design program began with only a few universities and had only a short history, but now more than 300 universities offer this major, with the trend of growth accelerating. However, establishing a strong industrial design program is a long and arduous journey. As a faculty member at the School of Design of Wuxi University of Science and Technology, one of the earliest universities in China to establish an industrial design program, I feel immense pressure. Since industrial design is an emerging field, its objectives must be explored, its methodologies must be studied, and its system must be developed. As for the teaching aspect, curriculum development is of paramount importance. Design Psychology, in addition to introducing general consumer psychology, focuses on the latest developments in the external world, striving to broaden the international perspective of design students, deepen their understanding of Chinese corporate culture, and equip them with advanced skills and methods for collecting internal and external corporate data. This book aims to achieve the cultivation goals of the School of Design at Wuxi University of Science and Technology—"future designers with an international cultural vision, Chinese cultural characteristics, and alignment with the demands of the knowledge economy era." The book introduces the subject, significance, research methods of industrial design psychology, the relationship between design and consumer needs, the connection between design and consumer motivation and attitudes, as well as corporate design and consumer satisfaction.
