Just as the operation of reason has never been pure, but is constrained by various irrational factors and desires, theory is not entirely governed by logic. Especially if conscience is lost, the clumsiness of theory will be exposed in full. Philosophy is not a game of metaphysics, but a reflection on this world and its affairs, and a pursuit of truth. The author divides philosophy into two types: one is philosophy as a profession; the other is philosophy as life. The former is unrelated to people and has nothing to do with philosophers. The latter is the opposite—it is life's commitment to truth. This is why true philosophy is always exciting. Just as the operation of reason has never been pure, but is constrained by various irrational factors and desires, theory is not entirely governed by logic. Especially if conscience is lost, the clumsiness of theory will be exposed in full. For me, philosophy is not a game of metaphysics, but a reflection on this world and its affairs, and a pursuit of truth. Philosophy is not something from another world; it is more like Antaeus, losing all its power once it leaves the earth. It is precisely after submitting to an academic system that the status of philosophy has declined. True philosophers cannot emerge from academia, although as modern intellectuals, they may teach and earn a living in academia, such as Hegel, Dewey, and Heidegger. But the academic system is destroying philosophy. Perhaps philosophy can be divided into two types: one is philosophy as a profession; the other is philosophy as life. The former has nothing to do with life, nor does it have anything to do with philosophers. The latter is the opposite—it is life's commitment to truth. This is why true philosophy is always exciting.
