How to handle repeated coughing in children

Patient's question:

Cough without sputum, since the low-grade fever hospitalization in May 2009, the cough has not stopped. It has been two days since it started to improve, but it has already begun again. Previous treatment and effectiveness: taking medicine. What kind of assistance do you want: want to ask how to treat it well...

Doctor's answer:

The symptoms you described are indeed coughing. Coughing is often triggered by inhaling irritating odors, cold air, exposure to allergens, physical activity, or upper respiratory infections, though some patients experience it with no apparent cause. It tends to worsen at night or in the early morning.
I recommend using dietary methods, which are suitable for both the young and old and have proven to be very effective.
1. Lily Bulb and Pear with Sugar: 10g of lily bulbs (fresh lily bulbs are better, double the amount), 1 pear, and 15g of sugar. Wash the lily bulbs and slice the pear. Mix the lily bulbs, pear slices, and sugar in a bowl, steam until cooked, and let it cool before taking it as a single serving. Take twice a day.
2. Peanuts with Rock Sugar: 100–150g of peanuts and an adequate amount of rock sugar. Wash the peanuts, add them to rock sugar and water, and cook together. Eat the peanuts and drink the soup, divided into 3 servings per day.
3. Tremella Soup: 5g of tremella, 1 egg, 60g of rock sugar, and an adequate amount of lard. Soak the tremella in warm water for about 30 minutes, then remove any impurities, rinse, and slice it. Add enough water to boil, then simmer over low heat for 2 hours until the tremella is fully cooked. Dissolve the rock sugar in water separately, add the egg, and mix with a little water to stir well before cooking. Bring it to a boil, stir well, and pour the egg and sugar mixture into the tremella. Add a bit of lard when serving.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
