Doctor's answer:

Your child has recurrent respiratory infections. The reasons could be:
1. Post-pneumonia sequelae. After the illness, the protective barrier of the respiratory mucosa is damaged, making it easier to get infected.
2. Immune function, or rather, an elevated immune response. This may also be related to their previous pneumonia. Children with weakened immune function are prone to repeated infections.
3. Allergic constitution. Although they may not wheeze, coughing can recur frequently, especially at night and upon waking. It's important to be cautious. Do you, as parents, have any allergic conditions? Does the child have a history of drug or food allergies? If it's cough-variant asthma, it is also prone to recurring.
4. Sinusitis. Children with a history of sinusitis are also prone to repeated coughing.
