Little Universe Piano Tutorial (5)

Author: (Hungarian) Béla Bartók
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2003-01-01
Features: The first four volumes of this piano collection are designed to provide training materials for beginners—whether young or old—which comprehensively cover all the challenges encountered during the initial learning stage. The first three volumes are intended for use over one or two years of piano study. Their distinction from traditional piano tutorials lies in the absence of any explanations regarding techniques or theory. Since every teacher already possesses this knowledge, no reference to a book or tutorial is needed to teach basic concepts. To address the same issue, the author often provides several pieces, allowing teachers and students to choose from them. There is no need to play all 96 pieces. At the end of the first four volumes, exercises are included, with the numbers in parentheses corresponding to the piece numbers arranged to address the same technical issues. For certain technical difficulties, the author has prepared multiple exercises. Teachers can select the most challenging ones for talented students and the easier ones for less advanced students. It is advisable to first practice these exercises before learning the pieces. In fact, the simplest exercises have not been included, which is another difference from traditional tutorials. Every teacher is familiar with this type of exercise and can create their own if needed.
