Features: Every story Yan Geling tells about the Chinese is unique, complex, and deeply moving. The characters she portrays are so vivid, and she explores and depicts their circumstances through a new interpretation of the ancient, gender relationships. The works are expressed in poetry-like refined language. In these stories, apart from satire and absurdity, what is even more intriguing is the harsh reality of the artistic world that Yan Geling reveals—the sensory world of human beings.
Content of the Book: In reality, the once-famous Sun Likun was an international slut. She used to ask a translator to write letters for her to her Czech mistress, saying that her "affection for him would never fade" and that they were "like neighbors even though they were far apart." The translator later copied these letters into large posters and posted them on the streets. During the years she performed in The Legend of the White Snake, she traveled to 17 cities, big and small, and men followed her in every city. With her snake-like waist, she could entangle men in bed with just a few moves. Men who had slept with Sun Likun said she had 120 vertebrae, and whatever way she wanted to wrap herself around you, she would. There wasn’t a single bone in her body that was solid; she moved with her thoughts, so she was like a boneless person.
