Patient's question:
Onset time: Laboratory test results: Previous treatment history and effectiveness: Can the third dose of anesthetic hepatitis A vaccine be given earlier? What are the disadvantages if it is given earlier?Doctor's answer:
The hepatitis A vaccine is not a blood product. Currently, the attenuated live vaccine for hepatitis A is recommended for two doses to achieve lifelong automatic immunity. The full automatic immunity for the hepatitis A vaccine consists of two injections: one for the primary automatic immunity and another within 6-12 months to provide some boosting immunity. There are two types of hepatitis A vaccines: one is attenuated, requiring only one injection, and the other is inactivated, requiring two injections. Generally, two doses of the hepatitis A vaccine are required, and it can be administered a few days earlier if needed. However, it is not necessary to receive a third dose, but doing so can produce a peak antibody response.
