Patient's question:
2 months, I've been having diarrhea all the time, having it every few days, and I can't just take random medicine. Hello expert, what causes the diarrhea in my child? Is it related to my diet?Doctor's answer:
(1) Viral infection: Rotavirus, Norwalk virus, and enteric adenovirus infection can lead to recurrent non-inflammatory, non-nausea vomiting in the small intestine.(2) Bacterial infection: Vibrio cholerae and enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli can cause non-inflammatory watery diarrhea in the small intestine. Salmonella, Shigella, Campylobacter, Yersinia enterocolitica, invasive Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Clostridioides difficile can cause colitis, producing purulent bloody nausea and vomiting.
(3) Parasitic infection: Giardia lamblia and Cryptosporidium transmission can lead to non-inflammatory watery diarrhea in the small intestine. Entamoeba histolytica invading the colon causes inflammation, ulcers, and purulent bloody nausea and vomiting.
