The umbilicus of a baby does not naturally dry out.

Patient's question:

The umbilical cord of the newborn did not naturally dry and fall off; it was scraped off and was still not dry, but it still has value. Alcohol sterilization suddenly discovered a small section of plastic tube inside. What is that? Will it fall off by itself after the umbilical cord dries? Is it a steam core?
Past treatment history and effectiveness: None.
What assistance is needed: To know what the plastic tube is and whether it will fall off by itself.

Doctor's answer:

The tube is used for amniotic cord induction in newborns. After a newborn is born, the umbilical cord must be cut promptly to allow the establishment of a better body circulation. Currently, some hospitals use plastic tubes for cord induction.
After the umbilical cord is induced, the nutrients lost due to the loss of blood supply are approximately self-peeled within about 1 week.
