The baby is now two weeks old and has slightly loose stools. How can this be resolved?

Patient's question:

For about half a month, my bowel movements have been a bit loose, and there are foam in the stool again when I go to the bathroom. Is this considered diarrhea? Can I use Pizhike or Simida to treat it? If not, what medicine, food, or attention can help alleviate (treat) this condition?

Doctor's answer:

Stool mixed with foam may also be related to prolonged crying time in children and swallowing excessive air. If the child also experiences vomiting, the vomited milk has a sour odor, or there are undigested milk clumps, or abdominal pain (when the child lies flat on the bed, the abdomen is lower than the chest), the stool may also have foam, no mucus or blood, the stool frequency increases continuously, but the consistency remains yellow or slightly greenish, or runny, then it is indigestion. If the infant vomits severely, even vomiting immediately after eating, or has episodes of self-resolving crying, the stool characteristics change significantly, appearing like egg drop soup or watery, or accompanied by mucus.
