1.1 General Steps for Arranging Documents with Word 2000
Generally, when arranging documents with Word 2000, the process includes text input and editing, formatting, inserting graphics, images, and tables, and setting pages. Below, we briefly introduce the usage of Word 2000 through an example.
1.1.1 Composition and Features of the Word 2000 User Interface
When users start Word 2000 by clicking the "Start" button and selecting "Programs" | "Microsoft Word," it can be seen that, like all other Windows applications, the Word 2000 user interface includes a title bar, menu bar, toolbar, workspace, and status bar. In Word, menus and toolbars are the two most important components of the program, as all user requests are fulfilled through them. Compared to other Windows applications, Word 2000 and other Office 2000 applications have added a feature to automatically record user operation habits. Only the most frequently used commands are displayed in the menu bar and toolbar. If certain commands are not used for a period, they will automatically hide. Clicking the button in the dropdown menu or hovering over a menu item for a moment will expand all commands in that menu item. If other tools are needed, users can click the button on the right side of the toolbar, then click the desired tool in the opened tool list. After selection, the chosen menu item and tool button will be automatically adjusted to the frequently used menu items and tool groups for convenience of use.
