Features: Based on the analysis of the formation process and word formation patterns, this book provides the word formation chain for each base word, effectively decomposing derived words. It helps learners form a clear understanding of word formation, cultivate their ability to guess words by analogy, and significantly improve their overall performance. The base words (i.e., roots) included in this book are based on the postgraduate entrance examination syllabus issued by the State Education Commission, with additional words commonly encountered in actual reading.
Outline of Russian Word Formation in Russian, some words consist only of the part that expresses the basic lexical meaning, i.e., the root, such as STOL (table), KLOTO (bread), etc. Most words, however, contain not only the part that expresses the basic lexical meaning but also parts that indicate additional lexical or grammatical meanings. These parts are called affixes, including prefixes, suffixes, infixes, terminal suffixes (i.e., postfixes), and word endings. Among these, word endings are the variable parts of the word, used to indicate grammatical meanings.
