What are the symptoms of autism?

Patient's question:

Now I'm in school, but according to the teachers' feedback, the child doesn't really want to get along with classmates and always sits alone. He doesn't look for others to play with, and when others try to play with him, he shuts them out. There have been several instances where he fought in a group. The teachers have also talked to him about it.
What kind of assistance is needed: Is this autism? If so, what other symptoms might there be?

Doctor's answer:

Symptoms of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
1. Early manifestations: The individual never smiles at loved ones. For example, when a loved one tries to pick them up, they never raise their hands to prepare for being held, nor do they lean close to their mother.
2. Social difficulties, extreme loneliness, lack of interaction with others, and minimal emotional connection. Even with parents, they show no attachment, as if they are strangers. However, they do not feel shy when interacting with strangers. Normal children often express their emotions and intentions through eye contact, but individuals with ASD lack this ability and never use it to convey feelings or suggestions.
