Features: Research on sustainable forest environmental management is not only of significant theoretical meaning and practical value for effectively regulating and controlling the adverse impacts of human production and consumption patterns on forest environments, the rapid conversion of forest environmental capital to economic capital, and the unsustainable exploitation of forest environmental homogeneity, but also plays a positive role in promoting the attitudes and behaviors of forest environmental users that benefit society. Based on the theoretical research and practical achievements of contemporary environmental management, this book employs research methods such as normative and empirical analysis, static and dynamic analysis, systems analysis and equilibrium analysis, and combines the application of economic models and statistical methods to systematically elaborate on issues such as the roles of markets and governments in forest environmental changes, the equilibrium of forest environmental supply and demand, the institutions of sustainable forest environmental utilization, the measurement of forest environmental value, and the internalization of forest environmental external effects.
Building on the significant advancements in contemporary environmental management theory, this book proposes that sustainable development theory, the spaceship economy theory, the theory of growth limits, the theory of environmental crisis, and externality theory are not only rooted in a common origin but also represent a return to these theoretical studies. It constructs analytical models for the positive and negative impacts of markets and governments on forest environmental changes, as well as a basic model for the equilibrium of forest environmental supply and demand. It conducts in-depth research on the optimal supply and effective demand mechanisms and pathways to alleviate the supply-demand conflicts in forest environments. The book summarizes the multiple characteristics of sustainable forest environmental utilization, systematically analyzes the causes of unsustainable forest environmental institutions, and establishes a framework for the sustainable utilization of forest environments.
Based on the connotation of forest environmental value, it proposes an element accumulation measurement model and valuation method for forest environmental value, which has been applied and validated through research results. It studies the effectiveness of internalization models for forest environmental external effects, conducts an empirical study using the policy of returning farmland to forest/grassland as an example, and compares and analyzes the selection conditions for various internalization methods of forest environmental external effects.
This book is rich in content and well-supported by data. It is suitable for professionals in the fields of population, resources, environment, ecological economics, and management, as well as university teachers and students, and administrative personnel in agricultural, forestry, water conservancy, and environmental management departments.
