Features: This book is a reference tool for hospital medical work, serving as a handy guide for clinical physicians and other healthcare professionals. With the rapid and ever-evolving development of modern medicine, the variety of medications continues to increase, and prescription has become increasingly complex. Medical progress equips clinicians with more tools to combat diseases. One of the goals of this manual is to help physicians select medications that are proven effective, have minimal adverse effects, are of stable quality, reasonably priced, and easy to use during diagnosis and treatment. The manual includes the official names and synonyms of medications, as well as their English names and synonyms, indications, applications, contraindications, major side effects, and important drug interactions. Medicinal efficacy is categorized by system and mechanism of action. Information on reserve medications for various clinical departments, radioactive isotopes, contrast agents, and biological products is also provided. The medications collected in this manual are based on the "National Essential Medicines List" issued in May 2000 and reference the varieties of top-tier hospitals, totaling over 990 species. It meets the needs of comprehensive hospitals for clinical treatment, prevention, and diagnosis, ensuring safe, effective, and convenient usage. Commonly used and effective medications not included in the "List" are also included for clinical reference. The manual adopts international standards for measurements and units, and most terms are standardized. The regulations in this manual are designed to align with pharmacopoeia standards. In cases where there are discrepancies with the pharmacopoeia or regulations from higher health authorities, the latter should prevail. The manual features bilingual indexes in Chinese and English. The Chinese index is arranged in pinyin alphabetical order, while the English index is arranged alphabetically. The appendix provides information on relevant pharmaceutical regulations, guidelines for physician prescribing statements, and other reference materials.
