Features: In compiling this book, the authors strive to systematically summarize the achievements in the research and development of Miao medicine in Guizhou Province. They have organized and discussed the development history, medical theory, diagnosis and treatment, characteristic formulas and medications, scientific connotations, and values of Miao medicine, aiming to provide a theoretical basis and practical foundation for its in-depth development. Based on the basic requirements for new traditional Chinese medicine drugs at the national level, they have scientifically re-evaluated Miao medicinal herbs with a long history of use, proven efficacy, clear origins, and potential for promotion. This includes 165 Miao medicinal herbs and 117 compound preparations (with only a few formulations from other ethnic groups) that have been re-evaluated and included in the local standards of Guizhou Province. The book also provides a comprehensive reflection on the marketization of Miao medicine in Guizhou and its future prospects. It highlights the initial successes of Miao medicine research and development in Guizhou, emphasizing that reviving and developing ethnic medicine is not only a historical trend and an urgent need of the times but also a significant academic issue. It is crucial for enhancing ethnic pride, inheriting and promoting ethnic culture, fostering ethnic unity, maintaining political stability, consolidating national defense, and advancing economic development and national prosperity. The book is divided into an Upper Part, a Lower Part, and Appendices and Indexes. The authors and reviewers of each chapter are named at the end of each article. The re-evaluation data on Miao medicinal herbs and compound preparations in the Lower Part were provided by the Pharmaceutical Administration Department of Guizhou Provincial Health Department and relevant pharmaceutical enterprises, and were subsequently organized, revised, and reviewed. Color photographs of selected pharmaceutical enterprises are provided by the respective manufacturers. During the compilation process, extensive opinions and suggestions from various parties were solicited, and repeated revisions were made. The book was finally reviewed and approved by experts in Miao history and Miao medicine before being published by the Leading Group and Editorial Committee.
