Features: Alexander Nikolaievitch Scriabin (1871－1915), a Russian composer and pianist, was a master of symphonic composition and piano music. His early works inherited the Russian classical tradition in a new way. His compositions are filled with sharp drama, heroic spirit, and an optimistic, resilient attitude. The melodies are broad, emotionally intense, structurally grand and refined, often employing large orchestral arrangements. The sound is both powerful and delicate, with stark contrasts in dynamics. His early piano works extensively utilize the techniques and expressive power of the piano, creating vivid musical imagery filled with passion. Tense rhythms and sharp harmonies frequently appear, and he extensively uses complex chords to emphasize harmonic tension and dissonance, reflecting the sharp, unresolved conflicts he felt internally. Scriabin's ten piano sonatas not only showcase his exceptional piano technique but also reveal the evolution of his harmonic language and ideological style. The last five sonatas, composed between 1912 and 1913, completely abandon key signatures, with harmonies that are hazy and ethereal, sometimes even atonal. The chords are built on unusual intervals, such as fourths with semitone variations. The traditional phrasing of musical form is absent. Scriabin's compositions set the precedent for Russian modernist music and also marked the beginning of atonal music and chromatic techniques in Europe. However, this music, which broke away from tradition, once caused a sensation in the musical world but later faced skepticism and dismissal as the 20th century saw the rise of neoclassicism and other movements. The complete edition of Scriabin's piano sonatas is published domestically for the first time, hoping to provide reference and inspiration for readers in the domestic musical community studying the art of the piano.
