How to solve coughing

Patient's question:

I started coughing last month, but it wasn't very serious—just occasional coughs. About a week later, when it hadn't improved, I took my child for a thorough check-up. After the examination, the doctor said everything was fine, and my child was in good spirits. But now it's been a month, and the coughing is still there. What kind of assistance can I seek for this: My child has been coughing occasionally for a month and it hasn't gotten better. What should I do?

Doctor's answer:

During the flu season, if a child has a fever with coughing, it is expected to have a longer course of illness. After consulting a doctor, follow their guidance for medication and care at home. Do not repeatedly take the child to the hospital because the fever does not subside or comes and goes, as this increases the risk of repeated transmission.
Secondly, in the early stages of a cold when the child's condition is not severe, they can take children's cold medicine first. If the fever reaches above 38.5°C, take fever-reducing medication promptly, rest quietly, and drink plenty of hot water. When the condition becomes milder, seek medical attention in time. At this point, it is not advisable to handle it alone, especially avoid taking adult medications casually.
