Conceptual Still Life Sketch

Features: The outstanding feature of this book is its attempt to start from the basic subject of still-life sketching and integrate various new explorations in sketching teaching practice within the context of the collision between Chinese and Western painting. It aims to establish a new sketching teaching framework that encompasses the three major categories of painting languages: representational, expressive, and abstract. If previous sketching teaching research primarily focused on addressing the drawbacks of singularity since the 1950s, this book strives to move beyond "opposition" towards "integration," interpreting different sketching modeling concepts and expressive techniques from a more inclusive new perspective. Thus, it achieves the transcendence of traditional models through an open sketching concept and teaching methodology in the "new concept." Clearly, this work holds significant constructive and practical meaning in the field of Chinese sketching teaching research today. At the same time, I believe that the thematic value of this monograph marks the beginning of research on art skills moving beyond purely experiential summaries to a comparative study of painting concepts and techniques, taking sketching art a step further towards in-depth theoretical research.
