Features: This revision is based on the original edition, incorporating past lessons learned and the valuable insights of readers over the past two years. The changes cover most of the original maps and illustrations, nearly 100 photographs, and some text. The revised maps now better reflect the current state of transportation, tourism, and other elements. Additionally, the transportation and tourism maps now include highway mileage to cater to the needs of self-driving travelers. Furthermore, the atlas has been enriched with some emerging tourist attractions that have gained popularity in the past two years. As a result, the revised atlas offers more comprehensive content, a more vibrant layout, superior production quality, and enhanced practicality, making it a completely new and improved edition. We hope it will earn the recognition of more readers.
The China Tourist Hotline Map Atlas was launched in China in September 1988. Due to its innovative design, high-quality production, and strong practical reference value, it was highly favored by consumers. In just two short years, the book was printed six times, with a cumulative circulation of over 130,000 copies. In December 1999, it was awarded the title of "National Best-Selling Book" by the China Book Publishing and Distribution Industry Association. During this period, the book was also spotted by the international media giant, Bertelsmann, and was distributed both domestically and internationally.
In early 2001, we partnered with Hong Kong's Youyi Publishing Company to produce the China Tourist Hotline Map Atlas (Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Edition), which was successfully launched in the region. However, given the significant changes in urban landscapes over the past two years, the outdated map data in the original edition could no longer fully reflect the current reality. Therefore, we decided to revise it entirely to better serve readers and express our gratitude for the book's enduring popularity.
