Sleeping peacefully with breathing around 50 is pneumonia?

Patient's question:

A newborn is 12 days old. Just now I counted that their quiet breathing during naps is about 50. Normally they eat 60 milliliters of milk, but today they fell asleep several times while eating, with one session lasting about 30 milliliters. There is almost no coughing. They burp when changing diapers. Today, I noticed sticky bubbles in their mouth. They seem to be sleeping more during naps than usual! Could it be neonatal pneumonia?

Doctor's answer:

Neonatal pneumonia manifests as: fever or hypothermia, refusal to feed, rapid breathing, flaring nostrils, cyanosis, retractions, and the three. In the early stages, lung signs may not be apparent, but during the course of the illness, fine wet rales can reappear in both lungs.
A newborn's normal respiratory rate is 40-44 breaths per minute. If your baby is breathing around 50 times per minute, it might be slightly fast. Additionally, if the baby eats little and falls asleep while feeding, it could indicate poor mental state, with bubbles in the mouth, suggesting the possibility of aspiration pneumonia.
