Features: Today, out of every 10 people in China, there is 1 Henanese person, and out of every 60 people on Earth, there is 1 Henanese person. However, today’s Henanese people find themselves in a very awkward situation. Across the Great Wall and across the Yangtze River, a slogan is spreading widely——“Never trust Henanese people.” The term “Henanese people” here, like the “Henanese people” in the popular phrase “Prevent fire, prevent theft, prevent Henanese people,” is no longer a simple designation for those living on the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It has become a genuine derogatory term, filled with complex and contemptuous connotations, almost as despised as “Yankees” or “Japanese devils” in the past. Defaming Henanese people has become a kind of “fashion” in today’s secular society, an unhealthy cultural phenomenon. On the surface, millions upon millions of living, breathing Henanese people have become the targets of discrimination, harm, and humiliation; on a deeper level, it is the ancient Central Plains culture that is being discriminated against, harmed, and humiliated. If Mount Song could speak, and the Yellow River could cry out, then today’s “Heavenly Questions” would undoubtedly be: What’s wrong with Henanese people? Who have Henanese people provoked?!
