How to solve the problem of blowing bubbles and snoring after 10 days of birth

Patient's question:

Born with a habit of snoring, not always, occasionally making sounds. Additionally, I had a cesarean birth 10 days ago and have been experiencing naps, followed by spitting out bubbles of saliva after drinking water and milk. This condition has persisted since birth, 10 days so far. What kind of assistance is needed: Is it a respiratory issue or a normal phenomenon?

Doctor's answer:

Generally, infants and young children are not very good at swallowing saliva. When there is excessive fluid in the oropharynx of adults, they will unconsciously swallow it into the stomach to maintain a clear throat. However, infants or many people with brain nerve problems (such as those in a coma or with intellectual disabilities) may have underdeveloped swallowing function. Even when awake, substances in their mouths are prone to leakage (spitting bubbles or drooling). When sleeping, the fluid not only leaks out as before but also flows backward into the throat to accumulate. Therefore, when the airflow enters and exits the trachea, the mixture of air and liquid will produce a "huffing and puffing" breathing noise.
