Can children with allergic purpura receive the influenza vaccine?

Patient's question:

Fu Zhi Xin's main symptoms: Allergic purpura, pinpoint hemorrhagic spots on lower limbs and the back of both feet. Onset time: July 2006. Laboratory test results: Urinalysis normal. Previous treatment history and effectiveness: From July 2006 to May 2008, treatment with both Chinese and Western medicine.

Doctor's answer:

In recent weeks, seasonal influenza has been rampant, compounded by the lingering threat of H1N1 influenza. Many parents of children with allergic purpura have inquired whether their children can receive anesthesia vaccines. For immune-related conditions such as allergic purpura and nephrotic syndrome, it is generally not recommended to administer vaccines when the disease is unstable. Clinically, there are numerous cases where allergic purpura or exacerbated symptoms have followed the administration of anesthesia vaccines (e.g., rabies, measles, rubella, hepatitis A, influenza, hepatitis B, etc.). Therefore, it is advisable to avoid vaccination during periods of instability or when suppression is short-lived. Based on my experience, it is usually best to wait at least one year of stability before considering anesthesia vaccines.
