Features: This book is a system built on a three-tier architecture, written in ABAP language. ALE and BAPI are used to link BW and SAP systems as well as non-SAP systems. SAP BW makes data warehouse development quite simple, to the extent that even with some experience in database design and computer editing, one can use BW. This book is an operational guide that introduces the functions of SAP BW by capturing the operation interface and demonstrating the process step by step. The book primarily covers the core technologies of SAP BW, while also discussing other SAP technologies such as the SAP Foundation Platform, ABAP, ALE, etc. The book mainly consists of two parts: Part one is the fundamentals. Starting from a simple business scenario, it explains how to create information cubes, load data into information cubes, check the validity of loaded data, create queries to generate reports, and manage user authorizations. The second part covers advanced topics such as information cube design methods, aggregations, multi-cubes, operational data stores, business directories, general R/3 data extraction, data maintenance, performance improvement, and object transport. The appendix introduces BW's ASAP, which is one of the derivative methods of SAP's ASAP implementation approach, and provides an overview of the three-tier architecture. This book is primarily written for BW implementation teams and those who need to understand data warehouse knowledge.
