Features: This textbook has undergone substantial additions, deletions, and modifications in its content. It aims to highlight fundamental theories and basic concepts while also reflecting the latest theories and advancements in contemporary epidemiology and pathobiology. Therefore, the content selection is as concise and focused as possible, avoiding excessive complexity and striving for simplicity and clarity to make it easy for students to understand and remember. At the same time, attention is paid to the systematicity, logic, and completeness of the content. Specific reforms are as follows:
1. The Immunology Basics section has significantly increased the theoretical content of fundamental immunology, including the molecular mechanisms of specific antigen recognition, the essence of MHC biology, and the biological roles of various immune molecules. It has also added clinical immunology content such as autoimmune diseases and immune deficiencies. Particularly in the application of immunology, many new methods for immunotherapy and prevention have been added, including the application of genetic engineering and cellular engineering. With a solid foundation in theory, students can apply their knowledge freely in clinical practice. At the same time, the textbook emphasizes the relationship between Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), traditional Chinese herbal medicine, and immunology, as well as the research approaches and methods, with a dedicated chapter on the topic.
2. The teaching focus of pathobiology has been adjusted, with appropriate additions and deletions of content in conjunction with clinical applications.
3. Based on the current epidemiological trends of infectious and endemic diseases worldwide and in China, the disease spectrum has been adjusted, with corresponding additions and deletions of content.
4. The fourth part, Experimental Guidelines, includes experimental rules, immunology experiments, medical microbiology experiments, medical parasitology experiments, and comprehensive experiments.
5. All figures in the textbook have been standardized and uniformly designed.
6. The appendix at the end of the book provides an English-Chinese glossary of important terms for reference by teachers and students.
